For more than 3 decades, I’ve had the honour of dedicating myself to the fields of healthcare and well-being, evolving from a dedicated administrator and strategist into a passionate coach and mentor. My journey has been an enriching tapestry of experiences, each thread woven with a commitment to excellence in serving, compassion in caring, and empowerment in Coaching and Mentoring. My tenure in the Healthcare and Education Industry has been a profound learning experience, shaping me into the compassionate and dedicated professional I am today. I am Antonia Pushparaj, a Neonatal Specialist Nurse, Mentor, Educator, and Social Advocate—but more than that, I am someone who believes in the profound power of human connection, learning, and service. My journey is not just a profession; it is a calling to touch lives, nurture minds, and foster change where it matters most.
Growing up with deep-rooted values of compassion and resilience, I chose a path that allows me to make a tangible difference every day. With expertise in neonatal nursing, quality improvement, and patient advocacy, my mission has been to elevate healthcare standards, inspire the next generation of professionals, and create safe, nurturing environments for children and adolescents. My career has been a blend of hands-on care, leadership, and social contribution, shaping policies and conversations that drive positive transformation in healthcare and society.
A Compassionate Start: Neonatal Specialist Bedside Nurse
My professional journey began in the neonatal intensive care unit of St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore, one of the premiere healthcare institutions of India . Here, I devoted myself to the most delicate and crucial moments of life. As a Neonatal Specialist Bedside Nurse, I was honored to provide expert care to newborns, ensuring each infant received compassionate, high-quality attention during their earliest days. This role ignited my passion for child health and laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of children from the very beginning.
Leadership in Healthcare: Administrator and Quality Expert
With a deep understanding of clinical excellence, I transitioned into healthcare administration, serving well-known hospital chains like St. John’s, Mazumdar Medical Centre, HCG Healthcare, Sagar Hospitals, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sapthagiri Medical College, and so on, where I took on the role of a Strategic Leader, Nursing Advisor, and Quality Expert. As a Principal Assessor for NABH, I evaluated over 350 hospitals across India, working with esteemed bodies like JCI, NABH, ISO, NSE, and NABL to elevate healthcare standards. My role involved not just assessing but shaping and refining accreditation processes, ensuring that healthcare institutions not only met but exceeded excellence standards
Championing Education: Head of Continuing Nursing Education
In my role as the Head of Continuing Nursing Education, I’ve been privileged to lead initiatives that advance nursing knowledge and practice. My work ensures that healthcare professionals stay at the forefront of the latest innovations and best practices. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, I strive to enhance the quality of care delivered and support the professional growth of nurses. My quest for Training, Coaching, Mentoring and Guiding emerged from this domain while appreciating the positive impact it had on my mentees and Good Clinical Outcomes.
Guiding Adolescents: Qualified Counseling Psychologist
My journey took a transformative turn as I became a Qualified Adolescent Counseling Psychologist. Specializing in adolescent well-being, I focus on guiding young individuals through their developmental challenges with empathy and insight. Integrating therapeutic methods like Logotherapy, REBT, CBT, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, I help adolescents build resilience, self-awareness, and emotional strength, equipping them to navigate the complexities of growing up.
Mentor and Coach: Empowering Life Skills for Adolescents
As a mentor, counsellor, trainer, and coach, I am passionate about empowering adolescents with essential life skills. My coaching programs are designed to foster personal growth, effective communication, resilience, and leadership. I take pride in helping young people unlock their potential and develop the skills necessary to thrive in their personal and professional lives. Each chapter of my career reflects my commitment to excellence, compassion, and empowerment. From the bedside of a neonatal unit to the boardrooms of healthcare institutions and the counselling sessions with adolescents, my mission is to make a meaningful difference in every life I touch.
